12 Staycation Camping Essentials
If you are heading out on the road for your first camping trip, or a regular wanting some extra piece of mind in your final checks, here are our 12 essentials for Staycation camping:
A tent
It may seem obvious, but the absolute essential for your stay! Make sure you have checked the condition of your tent(s) before making the journey and ensure you have all equipment you need to get pitched.
Sleeping bag
Vital for a good night’s sleep. Make sure you have all of the sleeping bags you will need and are suitable for the weather. Maybe consider some blankets too.
Warm clothes
We all hope the weather will stay on your side for your stay, but it’s always best to have a Plan B in case the British weather changes its mind.
Waterproof clothing
Just in case they are needed! Also consider packing the best footwear for your stay – such as walking boots and wellies.
Cooking and seating
Bring your utensils, cutlery, camping stove, pans, a table and chairs for your countryside cuisine!
A torch – or maybe two!
Make sure you can navigate through the darkness and in your tent. Particularly useful for any midnight trips to the loo as well! You may also consider a head torch for convenience.
Mallet
A true essential as part of your pitching equipment. You’ll be lost without one!
Food and Drink
What will you bring for your stay and how will you keep them cool? Consider these options carefully depending on your plans. There are also supermarkets in Lancaster and Garstang.
Ice box or packs
A great way to keep your perishables cool. Many boxes suggest they will keep items 18 degrees cooler than the temperature around it.
First aid kit
A must-have in your car for any unexpected cuts or grazes and ideal for a camping trip too.
Water Supply
Stay hydrated with plenty of water. Consider a metal water bottle to keep cool and help the environment.
Toiletries
Toilet roll, deodorant, shampoo and towels are all great to have nearby. Why not pack a travel bag with what you need so it’s all in one place along with some hand sanitiser and a face covering.
